Meet the team on International Nurses Day 2022

On May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday, people around the world celebrate the life-changing work done by nurses. We took the opportunity to learn more about the talented team behind our 24/7 nurse service.

A unique part of GoodShape's service, supporting workforces at some of the UK's largest employers, is our round-the-clock access to professional medical support from a team of RGNs or Registered General Nurses.

Besides supporting our clients' short and long-term wellbeing strategies with an accurate picture of the real issues affecting employees, our nurses hugely reduce the risks to individuals and organisations - helping people get the support they need without delay, while demonstrating organisations' commitment to being a responsible employer.

Last year, in fact, our nurses' interventions potentially saved someone's life more than once every day.

So, to mark International Nurses Day 2022, we wanted to give our team the spotlight, and put faces to the friendly voices that you and your employees can talk to 24/7 for medical advice or to report an absence.

We asked them what it is about nursing that makes them tick, how the vocation has progressed, why they love working at GoodShape, and their message for the international nursing community. Watch the video:

The day also featured fantastic presentations from Charlotte Andrews, Head of Wellbeing & Development at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Jonathan Daniel, Director at FitBack Occupational Health Physiotherapy as part of our continuing professional development programme to ensure our nurse team remains at the cutting edge of the profession.

But the biggest 'thank you' must go to our nurses. As Suzanne Marshall, our Head of Clinical Strategy says:

"We really appreciate you, you do a wonderful job - a lot of us wouldn't be here without you. So, Happy Nurses Day, and a huge thank you."
